Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) — Part-Time or Full-Time

Gustavus Veterinary Services is seeking a part-time or full-time Registered Veterinary Technician to join our independently owned mixed animal practice in rural Northeast Ohio.

We care for small animals and livestock through in-clinic appointments, farm calls, and haul-in services. If you enjoy variety, building relationships with clients, and making a difference in a rural community, we would love to meet you!

What You’ll Do

• Provide compassionate patient care and assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Assist with anesthesia, surgical preparation, patient monitoring, and recovery.
• Collect and process laboratory samples and perform diagnostic testing.
• Assist with radiographs, ultrasound, and other diagnostic procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
• Educate clients about preventive care, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate medical records and help keep treatment areas clean, organized, and stocked.
• Support small and large animal appointments based on experience and training.

What We’re Looking For

• Current Ohio Registered Veterinary Technician credential, or eligibility to obtain registration before starting.
• Strong animal handling skills and a commitment to patient comfort and safety.
• Clear communication, attention to detail, and a dependable work ethic.
• A team-oriented attitude and willingness to help throughout the practice.
• Ability to stay organized and adapt to a varied caseload.
• Mixed animal experience is a plus. Applicants with primarily small animal experience who are interested in learning large animal medicine are encouraged to apply.

Compensation: Based on experience and qualifications.
