The main attribution is the creation and execution of system, functional and non-functional tests for the products and solutions offered by Rohde & Schwarz Critical Infrastructure & Networks division, with a strong focus on test automation. Test activities must be performed within the allocated budget and agreed time frame, continuously increasing product quality and meeting end-customer expectations. The job involves activities in a global team, working independently on various software/hardware development projects and collaborating closely with technical stakeholders.

Your tasks

• Take ownership of the quality of assigned features, components or product areas.
• Handle day-to-day quality issues for the owned area and escalate risks when needed.
• Collaborate with R&D, System Engineering and Support teams to identify technical solutions that suit business and product needs.
• Develop and maintain relevant user scenarios, test cases, checklists and regression test coverage.
• Manually execute functional and non-functional tests when needed, ensuring reliable test evidence and traceability.
• Implement, maintain and extend automated test cases wherever suitable and efficient.
• Contribute to best practices for test automation, test execution and test management.
• Report, track and follow up defects, working closely with developers to resolve and verify issues.
• Design, deploy and maintain internal infrastructure and test environments needed for testing activities.
• Improve existing test automation processes, scripts and frameworks.
• Create and maintain test documentation, reports and status updates for stakeholders.
• Analyze real-world customer issues, support root-cause analysis and contribute to sustainable corrective actions.
• Mentor junior colleagues on testing practices, product behavior and automation topics when needed.

Your qualifications

• University degree in Electronics, Computer Science or similar education.
• 2-5 years of experience in testing software products or technical solutions, including Linux operating systems and applications, scripting and system / application log collection.
• Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, tools and processes.
• Experience with test automation frameworks; Behavior Driven Development experience is an advantage.
• Good Selenium WebDriver knowledge.
• Good experience in programming / scripting languages, preferably Python and Bash scripting.
• Good knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git or SVN.
• Experience using virtualization platforms such as VMware, OpenStack or Proxmox; administration experience is an advantage.
• Experience using CI/CD tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins or GitLab.
• Telecommunication knowledge and understanding of VoIP related protocols is an advantage.
• Good understanding of SQL queries and database concepts.
• Experience managing tests and issues in Jira, TestLink, Redmine or similar tools.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proactive working style with the ability to adapt to change.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with a can-do attitude.
• Very good English skills.
• Strong teamwork abilities.
