Rehabilitation Technician

Job Purpose

To support the Rehabilitation team in delivering safe and effective rehabilitation services by assisting with patient care, therapy activities, equipment preparation and daily rehabilitation operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in carrying out prescribed rehabilitation and therapeutic activities under appropriate supervision.
• Assist patients with mobility, transfers, positioning and the use of rehabilitation equipment while ensuring their safety and comfort.
• Prepare treatment areas, therapy equipment and rehabilitation aids before and after patient sessions.
• Clean, maintain and ensure proper storage of rehabilitation equipment in accordance with infection control and safety standards.
• Support the daily operations of the Rehabilitation Department, including patient flow, basic documentation and coordination with the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Rehabilitation, Physiotherapy Assistant, Healthcare or other relevant qualification.
• Relevant experience in a hospital, rehabilitation centre, physiotherapy or healthcare environment will be an added advantage.
• With minimum 3 years of working experience. Preferred in private healthcare setting.
• Basic knowledge of patient handling, mobility assistance and rehabilitation equipment is preferred.
• Caring and patient-focused with good communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Physically able to assist patients with mobility and rehabilitation activities, and willing to work according to departmental requirements.
