REIMBURSEMENT ANALYST

POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for monthly and annual third-party contractual allowance accruals. Ensures accurate third-party reimbursement through various strategic financial planning mechanisms. Supports the development of management reports and data analysis to aid Administration in the decision-making process. Assists in the preparation of the Medicare cost report.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

QUALITY
Prepares monthly and annual projections for all third-party payor contractual allowances ensuring accurate reimbursement.
Assists in the preparation, completion and filing of cost reports to third-parties on a timely basis.
Utilizes strategic financial planning software to assist the Controller in developing long-range financial projections.
Participates in and provides support to the Community Benefit Committee including financial reporting of community benefits.
Assists in the preparation of work-papers in response to audits by third-party auditors.
Performs updates as necessary to reimbursement software programs.

ACCESS
Develops and maintains standard and custom management reports from software programs to assist management in decision making.
Enhances professional growth and development through participation in education programs, literature, staff meetings, and workshops to maintain knowledge necessary to perform job duties.

Assists in the development and communication of decision support educational materials to all levels of management.
Adheres to all policies, procedures, standards of care, regulatory guidelines and Code of Ethical Conduct.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION
Masters Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance; or
CPA or HFMA Certification in lieu of masters degree

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
Five years professional experience in Accounting or Finance

REQUIRED REGISTRATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
CPA or HRMA Certification

Manual dexterity and mobility
Near acuity: ability to see clearly at 20 inches or less

WORKING CONDITIONS
Subject to varying and unpredictable situations
Subject to many interruptions; pressure due to multiple calls, inquires, and/or deadlines
Subject to irregular hours (days, evenings, weekends, holidays)
Occasional travel may be required
