Manaaki Support Services is a progressive reintegration based service and a leading provider of residential and community reintegration support services for vulnerable New Zealanders across the central and north of the North Island.
The Service
In partnership with Department of Correction, Manaaki Support Service has opened a new transitional accommodation service in the Bay of Plenty, supporting tāne to reintegrate into the community and build crime free lives.
This is a very exciting and innovative project, with the service able to offer up to 12 months secure accommodation and supports for 15 tāne, with options for community aftercare.
The service aligns closely with the Correction Department’s Hōkai Rangi strategy. We offer participants support to find employment, re-connect with whānau, develop essential life skills, support with AOD and other significant health issues, and to find long term secure accommodation.
The service has a strong cultural component, and supports connections with local whānau, marae, hapū and Iwi. Working with other community providers & services, seeking to build long term sustainable support networks. Supporting participants to be full and active members of their community.
