The Role

As a Release & Deployment Manager, you'll sit at the heart of software delivery, working closely with Platform Owners, DevSecOps, Quality Engineering, and Service teams to coordinate releases across multiple platforms and products.

You'll play a key role in evolving release capabilities through automation, improved governance, enhanced observability, and modern deployment practices, ensuring teams can move quickly without compromising stability or compliance.

What You'll Do

Release Strategy & Delivery

• Define and evolve release and deployment strategies across multiple technology platforms
• Drive safe, efficient, and repeatable release processes
• Coordinate releases across multiple engineering teams and business stakeholders
• Ensure dependencies, risks, and environment readiness are identified and managed effectively

Modern Engineering & Continuous Improvement

• Support the adoption of modern release practices, automation, and progressive delivery models
• Champion approaches such as canary releases and blue/green deployments
• Identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement across the software delivery lifecycle
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and shared ownership of release outcomes

Metrics, Performance & Insight

• Use engineering metrics including Lead Time, Deployment Frequency, Change Failure Rate and MTTR to improve delivery performance
• Drive data-led decision making across release and deployment activities
• Improve release predictability, reliability, and engineering effectiveness

Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Lead and develop a small team focused on release excellence
• Work closely with engineering, platform, operations, and business teams
• Influence stakeholders across technology functions to improve delivery outcomes
• Build strong relationships across the organisation to ensure successful delivery of change

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience leading Release, Deployment, or Service Transition activities within complex technology environments
• Strong understanding of modern software delivery practices including CI/CD, DevOps, and release automation
• Experience coordinating releases across multiple teams and managing dependencies at scale
• Ability to leverage metrics and data to improve delivery performance and reduce risk
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience working within regulated or enterprise-scale environments would be advantageous
