Release Coordinator
Job Description
Position: Release Coordinator
Location: Virtual (United States only)
Reports To: Rob Tewey, Senior Executive Vice President of Engineering
National Quality Systems (NQS) is an innovative software-as-a-service (SaaS) company providing clinical registry products for hospitals and healthcare organizations, including trauma, burn, and emergency general surgery programs. NQS also offers Activate360, a trauma reimbursement solution designed to support revenue integrity and financial performance. Our products combine healthcare expertise, technology, and actionable data to help clients improve clinical outcomes, operational performance, and reimbursement.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a product-oriented Release Coordinator to plan, coordinate, and communicate software releases across NQS products. This role serves as the operational bridge among Product, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Client Support, Implementation, and other business teams to ensure each release is well defined, thoroughly prepared, and delivered with clear internal and client-facing communication. The ideal candidate brings 3–5 years of relevant experience in a healthcare software environment, understands how product requirements translate into release readiness, and can manage details, dependencies, risks, and follow-through in a fully remote organization.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the endtoend release process for NQS clinical registry products and Activate 360, from release planning through deployment, communication, and postrelease followup.
- Maintain the release calendar, milestones, readiness checklists, dependencies, approvals, and status reporting across concurrent product releases.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to confirm release scope, business requirements, acceptance criteria, sequencing, and target dates.
- Facilitate releasereadiness meetings and ensure open actions, risks, defects, and decisions have clear owners and deadlines.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance to confirm testing progress, defect disposition, validation evidence, and go/nogo readiness.
- Prepare and maintain release documentation, including release notes, internal summaries, deployment checklists, knownissue documentation, and supporting product materials.
- Translate technical release details into clear communications for Client Support, Implementation, Account Management, and other nontechnical stakeholders.
- Support clientfacing release communication and training readiness in partnership with the appropriate business owners.
- Track release risks, issues, and dependencies; escalate blockers promptly and help drive resolution across teams.
- Coordinate postrelease monitoring, issue triage, stakeholder updates, and retrospective followup to confirm successful adoption and closure.
- Help improve release management standards, templates, workflows, metrics, and governance as NQS products and teams evolve.
- Maintain a working understanding of NQS product capabilities, customer workflows, healthcare data considerations, and regulatory or security requirements that may affect releases.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, information systems, product management, project management, or a related field.
- 35 years of experience in release coordination, product operations, product management, project management, implementation, or a comparable role within a software organization.
- Professional experience working with healthcare software, healthcare operations, or healthcare technology.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate crossfunctional work, manage competing priorities, and drive deliverables to completion.
- Experience organizing software release plans, requirements, testing readiness, documentation, stakeholder communication, or related productdelivery activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to nontechnical audiences.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, judgment, and followthrough in a deadlinedriven environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment.
- Reside in and have legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred (Bonus):
- Experience with healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM), reimbursement workflows, revenue integrity, or related financial operations.
- Experience with clinical registries or registry software; traumaspecific registry experience is helpful but not required.
- Experience coordinating releases for a SaaS product in an Agile development environment.
- Familiarity with product and delivery tools such as Jira, Confluence, HubSpot, or comparable platforms.
- Familiarity with healthcare data exchange, electronic health record (EHR) systems, interoperability concepts, or Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements.
- Experience creating release notes, product documentation, internal enablement materials, or client communications.
Benefits:
- Competitive salary and performancebased bonuses.
- Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
- 401(k) retirement plan with company matching.
- Flexible paid time off (PTO) policy and workfromhome stipend.
- Opportunity to work on meaningful products that support healthcare quality, clinical operations, and reimbursement.
