What they need

Step into a day that blends reliability, projects, and compliance

Picture beginning your morning on the production floor of our Jackson, TN plant, which manufactures Datacom and OEM assembly products. You review the preventive maintenance dashboard, confirm critical work orders are queued, and huddle with Production Scheduling to align priorities. By mid-morning, you’re supervising the commissioning of a new machine—verifying specs, sign-offs, and startup records—then shifting to a vendor review to finalize bids for a facilities upgrade. In the afternoon, you oversee an environmental compliance audit, close out stormwater sampling logs, and coach your Maintenance team on safety procedures and root-cause problem solving. You wrap the day with budget tracking and a quick pulse check with your crew—celebrating wins and planning tomorrow’s improvements.

Where you fit

This new role reports to the Engineering Manager and provides hands-on leadership for the Maintenance department while owning environmental program performance across the facility.

What you’ll lead

  • Own plant reliability: plan, schedule, and execute preventive maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Direct equipment repairs and troubleshoot chronic issues with a data-driven approach.
  • Oversee installation, inspection, and commissioning of new machines; maintain complete asset records.
  • Align maintenance priorities with production needs in collaboration with production leaders and the scheduling team.
  • Champion safety—enforce procedures and policies; manage Health & Safety programs, training, and reporting.
  • Manage vendors: develop performance specifications, solicit and approve bids, and ensure work meets quality and performance standards.
  • Build and manage departmental budgets; drive cost control and continuous improvement projects.
  • Lead special projects that advance throughput, quality, and cost objectives.

Environmental stewardship you’ll own

  • Run the facility’s environmental program: conduct routine compliance audits and complete corporate and regulatory reporting.
  • Oversee stormwater and wastewater monitoring and prevention activities.
  • Administer oil spill prevention and control measures.
  • Manage industrial solid waste handling and documentation.
  • Keep the Hazard Communication Program current.
  • Lead regular inspections, audits, and meticulous recordkeeping.

Your leadership scope

Provide direction to all Maintenance Department associates and steward the site’s environmental control efforts.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven success in Maintenance Engineering and Environmental Management within high-performance manufacturing.
  • Results orientation with strong attention to detail and the ability to see the big picture and “make the numbers.”
  • Comfort managing multiple complex priorities and performing under daily pressure.
  • Ability to motivate teams, communicate clearly, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Critical thinking, strong analytical skills, and excellent written/oral communication.
  • Solid planning, leadership, and administrative capability; high energy, urgency, and a fast-paced approach.
  • Expertise managing Health & Safety Programs, including training, recordkeeping, and reporting.
  • Experience in team-based environments and/or training in team dynamics, facilitation, and problem solving.
  • Facility expert on ESH activities.

Background and education

  • 7–10 years of Maintenance Engineering experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teams.
  • BS in Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
