Relief Security Officers – Flexible / Peak Season Cover

On Site Security Ltd is looking for reliable and professional Relief Security Officers to join our team as we enter a busy period.

This role is ideal for officers looking for flexible additional work, with assignments varying depending on client requirements. Cover may range from a single shift or one-day assignment through to several days of continuous work.

Where possible, we will aim to offer reliable officers regular hours. As new contracts and opportunities become available, there may also be the opportunity to move into more regular or ongoing work.

The Role

As a Relief Security Officer, you may be deployed across a range of client sites including commercial premises, hotels, construction sites, gatehouses and other static security assignments.

Assignments and shift patterns will vary, so flexibility is important.

Your duties may include:

• Maintaining a professional and visible security presence
• Conducting regular patrols of the premises
• Monitoring CCTV where required
• Managing access for staff, visitors, contractors and deliveries
• Responding appropriately to incidents, alarms and emergencies
• Identifying and reporting suspicious activity, hazards or security concerns
• Completing accurate incident reports and shift documentation
• Protecting client property, staff and visitors
• Providing additional security cover during busy periods, staff shortages and short-notice requirements

What We're Looking For

You will need:

• A valid SIA Security Guarding or Door Supervisor licence
• Good communication and customer-service skills
• A professional and presentable approach
• Reliability and excellent timekeeping
• Good observational and situational-awareness skills
• The ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with incidents
• Flexibility to work days, nights and weekends
• The ability to travel to different assignments where required

Previous security experience is preferred, although site-specific training and instructions will be provided.

Important – Relief Work

This is a relief position, so hours are not guaranteed and will depend on operational requirements.

Some assignments may be for one shift only, while others may provide several consecutive days of work. During particularly busy periods, considerably more hours may become available.

We value officers who prove themselves to be reliable, professional and flexible, and we will always try to prioritise these officers when regular shifts and longer-term opportunities become available.
