About the Role
Digital Charter, Inc. (DCIT) is seeking an entry-level Azure DevOps Support Specialist to support the onboarding of teams into Azure DevOps. Working as part of a collaborative team, you will help users get set up, answer their questions, and teach them to use Azure Boards with confidence.
This is a people-facing role. The right candidate has supported end users before, explains technical tools in plain language, and stays patient with users at every skill level. Full training on the Azure DevOps environment and onboarding process is provided.
Key responsibilities
Team onboarding
Assist in onboarding teams and projects into Azure DevOps.
Assist in receiving and tracking access requests from project managers and users, confirming each request is complete before it is handed off for submission.
Assist in confirming that new users can log in, reach their project, and see the right boards and areas.
Assist in tracking onboarding status for each team and sharing progress with the team.
End-user support
Assist in responding to Azure DevOps how-to questions and access issues.
Assist in troubleshooting common user issues and resolving them where possible.
Assist in routing requests that need further support to the appropriate team member, and following up until closed.
Assist in logging support requests and their resolution so recurring issues can be spotted and fixed.
Training and enablement
Assist in teaching users to work in Azure Boards: creating and updating work items, using backlogs and sprints, running queries, and reading dashboards.
Assist in delivering training one-on-one and in group sessions over Microsoft Teams.
Assist in creating and maintaining user guides, quick reference sheets, FAQs, and short how-to videos.
Assist in gathering user feedback and improving training materials.
Team support
Assist in scheduling onboarding and training sessions, and capturing notes and action items.
Assist in drafting clear, professional emails and announcements to users and stakeholders.
Assist in other team tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Required qualifications
0–2 years of professional experience, or equivalent education, internship, or certification coursework.
Experience providing end-user support, such as help desk, IT support, application support, or customer-facing technical support.
Experience using Azure DevOps or a comparable work management tool (Jira, Asana, Trello).
Basic knowledge of Azure Boards concepts: work items, backlogs, sprints, and workflow states.
Understanding of how workflows move work from start to completion.
Exposure to Agile methodology (Scrum or Kanban) through coursework, certification, or professional experience.
Prior experience in a role that reported to a manager and provided regular status updates.
Experience working on a team or in a collaborative environment.
Ability to take in requests, resolve or route them to the appropriate team, and follow through to closure.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical steps to non-technical users.
Ability to multitask, manage competing priorities, and follow instructions accurately.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, SharePoint).
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred qualifications
Experience training users or delivering how-to sessions, formally or informally.
Experience writing user guides, knowledge base articles, or quick reference materials.
Experience with a ticketing or service desk tool (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, or similar).
Familiarity with Agile reporting dashboards, including burndown charts, velocity, and sprint progress.
Familiarity with sprint planning.
Experience supporting a tool rollout, migration, or system onboarding effort.
An Agile or technical certification such as CSM, PSM I, CompTIA A+, or Microsoft AZ-900.
An Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or current enrollment, in Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
