Sensorem, the nation's largest and fastest-growing Drone-in-a-Box solutions provider, is looking for a number of skilled BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) drone pilots based in Perth. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge remote piloting technology on high-profile and challenging projects.

Start Date: Immediate

Due to upcoming deployments, we are expanding our Remote Operations Team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for remote sensing technology, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. Safety will always be your top priority.

You’ll need to be comfortable working as part of a team and independently within our 24/7 Remote Operations Centre (ROC) in Subiaco, WA.

Key Details:

  • Full-time, on-going contract.
  • Operate Sensorem's innovative SensHub Drone-in-a-Box (DiaB) solution from our ROC for clients across mining, mine processing, oil and gas, agriculture, ports, and government.

Sensorem has a number of upcoming deployments operating within controlled airspace. As such, an Instrument Rating (IREX) is considered highly desirable, and we strongly encourage candidates with crewed aviation qualifications and experience to apply.

About the Business

Since 2013, Sensorem has been a leading technology integrator, delivering AI-driven drone and remote sensing solutions for Tier 1 clients across Australia. While we’re best known for our Drone-in-a-Box (DiaB) capability, we also support a wide range of inspection and survey programs nationally - backed by a strong operational, safety, and data delivery framework from our Perth head office.

As Australia’s largest operator of DiaB systems, we currently run a fleet of SensHub deployments across Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, and Western Australia. Our Remote Operations Centre (ROC) operates 24/7, enabling scalable BVLOS operations and reliable service delivery for clients in critical industries.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the ROC Flight Coordinator to plan and execute BVLOS flight missions - 24/7.
  • Safely operate Sensorem-owned or managed Drone-in-a-Box (DiaB) systems to capture high-quality data.
  • Complete all necessary project documentation, including post flight forms and reports.
  • Manage and organise large datasets collected through DiaB systems, ensuring they are ready for post-processing.

Essential:

  • CASA RePL (multi-rotor up to 7kgs)
  • Pass for the BVLOS OCTA exam
  • AROC
  • Experience operating DJI M4E (or similar) multi-rotor drones
  • 50+ hours drone experience
  • Experience in commercial drone operations
  • Sound understanding of the CASA drone regulations
  • Ability to perform job safety analysis and risk identification
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in using core Microsoft 365 applications, such as Word and Excel.

Desirable:

  • CASA RePL (multi-rotor up to 25kgs)
  • IREX (Highly Regarded)
  • Commercial drone experience using automation software for flight programming, launching, landing, and mission execution
  • In-depth understanding of CASA’s regulations for BVLOS operations, including operational requirements, safety protocols, and emergency procedures
  • Senior first-aid
  • Experience in operating drone equipment in regional and/or remote areas
  • Experience in using drone mapping and photogrammetry software to plan missions
  • 4WD experience

What we offer:

  • Generous remuneration package, plus shift allowances
  • A long-term career pathway in a fast-evolving and high-impact technology sector
  • Clear opportunities for progression within our Remote Operations Centre (ROC) team
  • Exposure to a broad range of drone and remote sensing technologies and platforms

Note: Sensorem’s Remote Operations Centre operates 24/7, 365 days a year, so some shifts will include out of normal business hours operations.

Due to a large number of applications for these positions, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a proficiency check as part of the interview process.
