Remote Senior Electrical Estimator

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate electrical estimates, quotations, and tender submissions from project plans and specifications.
• Review electrical drawings, scopes of work, and technical documentation to determine project requirements.
• Interpret electrical symbols, legends, and terminology, including power points, lighting, switches, hot water services, distribution boards, and other electrical components.
• Complete quantity take-offs and material calculations for electrical projects.
• Assess labour, material, subcontractor, and equipment costs to produce competitive estimates.
• Prepare and submit tenders within required deadlines.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and quotations.
• Identify project risks, exclusions, and cost-saving opportunities during the estimating process.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers and the operations team to ensure a smooth handover of awarded projects.
• Ensure all estimates comply with Australian electrical standards, project specifications, and client requirements.

Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Electrical Estimator or Senior Electrical Estimator.
• Mandatory: Proven experience preparing electrical tenders and quotations.
• Mandatory: Previous experience within the electrical industry.
• Strong understanding of electrical terminology, symbols, legends, and construction documentation.
• Ability to interpret electrical plans and specifications accurately.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience estimating Australian electrical projects.
• Knowledge of Victorian electrical standards, regulations, and industry practices.
• Experience using GroundPlan (highly preferred).
• Experience using BuildExact, Estimates or similar estimating software.
• Experience using Tradify or similar software.
• Experience estimating commercial, residential, and industrial electrical projects.

Technical Requirements

• Reliable computer capable of running estimating and construction software efficiently.
• High-speed and stable internet connection.
• Quiet home office suitable for remote work.
• Dual-monitor setup preferred for reviewing plans and preparing estimates.
