WE’RE HIRING: RENOVATION SPECIALIST

Residential & Commercial Properties | Halifax Regional Municipality & surrounding areas

Full-time, permanent Competitive pay based on experience Benefits + RRSP matching

Build your career with Penwick

Penwick Developments is a growing Nova Scotia property development and management company with a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties. From apartment renovations and commercial improvements to exterior building upgrades, our team takes pride in creating safe, functional, and well-maintained spaces.

We are looking for a dependable, versatile Renovation Specialist who enjoys hands-on work, takes ownership of projects, and delivers high-quality results. You will work on both occupied properties and vacant units, handling a variety of interior and exterior renovations and repairs.

What you’ll be doing

· Drywall installation, repairs, taping, mudding, sanding, and finishing.

· Flooring installation and repairs, including vinyl plank, laminate, hardwood, and tile.

· Trim and finish carpentry: baseboards, casings, mouldings, doors, hardware, and cabinetry.

· Interior and exterior painting, preparation, caulking, and finishing.

· Siding, soffit, fascia, windows, exterior doors, weatherproofing, and other building-envelope repairs.

· Repairs to decks, stairs, railings, fences, and exterior structures; assist with roofing-related work when qualified.

· Apartment turnovers, kitchen and bathroom improvements, and commercial tenant renovations.

· Inspect work areas, identify deficiencies and water-infiltration concerns, and recommend practical solutions.

· Measure, plan materials, document progress and completed work, and coordinate with the renovation, maintenance, and property-management teams.

· Work safely and professionally, keep sites organized, and minimize disruption to residential and commercial tenants.

What you bring

· Hands-on experience across drywall, flooring, trim, painting, siding, and window and door installation.

· A solid understanding of tools, materials, construction techniques, and quality finishing standards.

· Ability to work independently, troubleshoot issues, manage time, and collaborate with a team.

· A valid driver’s licence and ability to travel between properties.

· A strong commitment to safety, reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail.

· Experience with commercial renovations, apartment turnovers, carpentry, and estimating is an asset.

Safety certifications

Fall Protection / Fall Arrest and First Aid & CPR certifications are required for the role but may be completed upon hire, with training arranged by Penwick. Other job-specific safety training may be provided. Work requiring certification must not be performed before the necessary training is completed.

Why join Penwick?

· Competitive compensation based on your skills and experience.

· Employee health and benefits package and an RRSP matching program, subject to plan terms.

· The tools, resources, training, and guidance you need to be fully set up for success.

· A great, supportive team that values collaboration, initiative, and quality workmanship.

· Stable, full-time work, varied projects, and opportunities to develop your skills as we grow.

We don’t just want you to do the job — we want to set you up to succeed.

If you take pride in your workmanship and want to be part of a growing, team-focused company, we’d love to hear from you. Please submit your resume highlighting your renovation and construction experience.

Penwick Developments is committed to a respectful, inclusive, and safe workplace.
