We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Docking Analyst to join our technical operations team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in planning, budgeting, tracking, and optimizing dry-docking projects, major overhauls, and vessel repair schedules across our fleet. If you have a background in naval architecture, marine engineering, or maritime project management with strong data and cost analysis skills, we want to hear from you!
📋 Key Responsibilities:
- Dry-Docking & Repair Planning: Assist Technical Superintendents in compiling, reviewing, and structuring dry-docking specifications, work scopes, and overhaul schedules.
- Cost & Budget Analysis: Prepare comprehensive dry-docking budget estimates (CAPEX/OPEX), monitor real-time expenditure during dockings, evaluate variation orders, and perform post-docking financial reconciliations.
- Vendor & Shipyard Evaluation: Analyze bids, quotations, and tenders from shipyards, dry-docks, and sub-contractors to conduct cost-benefit comparisons and negotiate technical/commercial terms.
- Project Performance Tracking: Track project milestones, timeline variances, material lead times, and resource allocation to ensure vessels return to service on time and within budget.
- Class & Technical Documentation: Review class inspection reports, dry-dock completion reports, and thickness measurement data to track vessel condition trends and update fleet maintenance databases.
- Data Reporting & Analytics: Maintain historical docking metrics (cost per day, steel renewal rates, paint consumption) to generate predictive insights for future fleet docking budgets.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise closely with Technical Superintendents, Procurement, Shipyards, and Classification Societies to facilitate smooth logistics, spare parts dispatch, and administrative clearances.
🎯 Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Maritime Transportation, or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience: 2–3 years of experience in dry-docking planning, cost estimation, project management, or technical support within a ship management, shipping line, shipyard, or maritime consultancy firm.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, cost tracking) and project management software (MS Project, Primavera).
- Familiarity with Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS), shipyard work breakdown structures (WBS), and vessel structural/machinery components.
- Basic understanding of Classification Society rules and dry-docking regulatory frameworks.
- Soft Skills: Sharp analytical skills, strong commercial acumen, precise attention to detail, and sound problem-solving capability. Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia (written and spoken).
- Travel & Flexibility: Willingness to travel occasionally to dry-docks, shipyards, and ports across Indonesia or internationally during active docking projects.
