Reporting & Analytics Manager – Freight Forwarding

We are looking for an experienced Reporting & Analytics Manager to lead a small analytics and reporting team within a global freight forwarding environment. This role is ideal for a hands-on analytics leader who combines strong technical expertise in Power BI, SQL, and data management with proven people leadership, reporting governance, and a deep understanding of logistics operations.

The successful candidate will drive the development of reporting capabilities, modernize legacy systems, establish standardized KPIs, and translate complex freight data into actionable insights that improve business performance across Air Freight, Ocean Freight, and Customs Brokerage.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage an analytics and reporting team, overseeing delivery across customer-facing and internal business reporting.
• Develop and execute the reporting and analytics strategy, aligning priorities with business objectives and operational needs.
• Lead the design, development, and optimization of Power BI dashboards, data models, reporting solutions, and performance analytics.
• Oversee data architecture, integration, transformation, validation, and governance to ensure accurate, consistent, and reliable reporting.
• Apply strong SQL expertise to query, manipulate, analyze, and interpret complex datasets across multiple tables and business systems.
• Establish standardized KPIs, reporting definitions, data quality controls, documentation, and governance frameworks.
• Partner with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable analytics solutions.
• Manage competing priorities, allocate team resources, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality reporting and insights.
• Lead change management initiatives, build analytics and performance management capabilities from the ground up, and transition legacy reporting systems to modern solutions.
• Analyze freight forwarding data to identify trends, improve operational efficiency, monitor revenue and profitability, and support data-driven business decisions.
• Stay current with advancements in data visualization, data storytelling, business intelligence, and AI-driven analytics.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Business Analytics, or another quantitative or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data analytics, reporting, data management, or business intelligence.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or transportation operations.
• Demonstrated expertise in at least one BI and visualization platform, preferably Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
• Strong SQL skills, including complex queries, multiple-table joins, subqueries, and data manipulation.
• Solid understanding of data modeling, data architecture, data quality, and reporting governance.
• Proven managerial experience leading teams, managing reporting delivery, prioritizing competing business requirements, and driving change.
• Strong understanding of freight forwarding operations, including Air Freight, Ocean Freight, and Customs Brokerage.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to convert complex data into clear business insights.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to engage with both technical teams and senior business leaders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CargoWise (CW) or similar Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Experience working with freight forwarding, shipment, revenue, cost, and profitability data.
• Experience building or transforming reporting functions, implementing KPI frameworks, and replacing legacy reporting solutions.
• Familiarity with EDI/API integrations and data flows between operational systems and BI platforms.
• Exposure to AI-enabled analytics, predictive insights, automated reporting, and advanced data storytelling.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
