Reporting & Analytics Solution Architect (Data Migration GCP)

Who we are

The Solution Architect is responsible for shaping and guiding the technical solution for large-scale data-intensive migration and modernization initiatives. The role focuses on understanding the existing application and processing landscape, defining the target solution, and supporting delivery from assessment and design through migration, testing, cutover, and stabilization. It requires strong knowledge of distributed data processing, cloud architecture, integration, security, and operational resilience, combined with the ability to make pragmatic design decisions in a complex delivery environment.

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect with a strong background in large-scale, data-intensive systems and cloud transformation. You can analyze existing solutions, identify dependencies and constraints, and translate functional and non-functional requirements into implementable target architectures.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Assess existing applications, workloads, interfaces, data flows, dependencies, and operational processes to establish the migration scope and constraints
• Define end-to-end target solution architectures for the migration or modernization of data-intensive workloads to Google Cloud Platform
• Design solution components covering ingestion, distributed processing, storage, orchestration, integration, scheduling, security, monitoring, and operational support
• Define migration patterns and transition architectures, including coexistence, data synchronization, phased migration, rollback, cutover, and decommissioning considerations
• Evaluate technology options and document architecture decisions, trade-offs, risks, assumptions, and dependencies
• Define non-functional requirements for performance, scalability, resilience, recoverability, security, auditability, supportability, and cost efficiency.
• Guide engineering teams during implementation and ensure that delivered components remain aligned with the agreed architecture
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architects, Product Owners, Engineering, Infrastructure, Security, Testing, and Operations teams
• Support technical planning, design reviews, proofs of concept, migration rehearsals, production readiness, cutover, and post-migration stabilization
• Produce and maintain architecture artefacts such as solution overviews, system context and component diagrams, interface specifications, deployment views, decision records, and migration designs
• Ability to understand complex existing systems and turn incomplete or evolving requirements into practical solutions
• Experience leading architecture discussions, resolving technical issues, and influencing delivery decisions
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to work with global, multidisciplinary teams across delivery phases
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, ownership, and delivery focus

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field
• At least 7+ years of experience delivering complex technology solutions, including significant experience in Solution Architecture or Technical Leadership roles
• Hands-on architecture experience with large-scale, data-intensive or distributed processing solutions
• Experience with cloud migration, application modernization, or technology transformation programmes
• Experience defining target architectures and migration approaches for systems with multiple upstream and downstream dependencies
• Strong understanding of integration patterns, workload orchestration, distributed processing, storage, networking, security, and observability
• Good SQL knowledge and the ability to understand data flows, processing logic, schemas, and workload characteristics
• Experience defining and validating non-functional requirements and supporting solutions through implementation and production transition
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform: BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Composer or comparable orchestration services
• Cloud IAM, service accounts, encryption, secrets, networking, monitoring, logging, and cost controls
• Cloud-native deployment, automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code concepts
• Apache Hadoop, Spark, Hive, or comparable distributed data-processing technologies
• Batch and event-driven processing, workload scheduling, dependency management, and performance optimization
• Large-volume data movement, reconciliation, validation, and migration controls
• Application and integration architecture, APIs, messaging, service patterns, and hybrid connectivity
• Resilience, disaster recovery, scalability, security, auditability, and operational support design
• Architecture modelling, technical documentation, decision records, and design governance

Nice to Have:

• Banking or financial services experience
• Experience with regulated environments and complex security or compliance requirements
• Google Cloud certifications or equivalent practical experience
• Experience with agile delivery and large, multi-team transformation programmes
