Research Analyst - Montage

Montage is a visual search engine that brings images, playable clips, products, and source-backed results together in one place, then lets people save and organize useful finds into shareable montages.

We are hiring a Research Analyst to help us understand how people search, discover, evaluate, save, and return to visual information. This role is focused on product behavior and consumer insight: what works, what causes friction, what users want next, and whether Montage can become part of their regular discovery workflow.

What you will do

• Plan and run product surveys, usability studies, interviews, and lightweight experiments.

• Evaluate search relevance, result variety, speed, source trust, onboarding, saving, organization, sharing, and mobile usability.

• Identify consumer segments, unmet needs, switching barriers, and reasons people would or would not return.

• Turn behavioral and survey evidence into clear product recommendations.

• Work directly with product and engineering to prioritize research questions and measure improvements.

What we value

• Strong product judgment and curiosity about consumer behavior.

• Experience with surveys, usability testing, product analytics, market research, or research synthesis.

• Clear communication and the ability to separate evidence from assumptions.

• Comfort using AI tools while independently verifying their output.

• Interest in visual search, discovery, shopping, planning, media, or creator tools.

The application includes a transparent hands-on Montage product study. Applicants will create a free account at https://www.montages.co, use the product for at least 15 minutes, run five real searches, explore multiple result types, and save a result or create a montage. The application survey is primarily multiple choice and checkboxes and asks about relevance, clarity, trust, ease of use, future-use intent, desired improvements, and feature priorities. No purchase is required. Responses are used both to evaluate candidacy and, in aggregate, to improve Montage. Completing the exercise does not guarantee an interview or employment.

Pay: $78,568.42 - $88,008.24 per year
