Role Description

Main Purpose

Manages effectively and efficiently the execution of innovation and renovation projects, optimization and buying better  initiatives, product improvement initiatives inclusive of consumer complaints and product benchmarking.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Innovation/Renovation 

• Development of product reformulation based on agreed quality and cost targets, complying with internal and  external regulations on agreed launch timings 

• Organization and documentation of product technical evaluation including machinability, shelf-life study,  storage and handling testing, stability of product to storage condition and other pertinent quality testing 

• Preparation of product evaluation and establish material standards 

• Completion of requirements and technical testing for product registration

 

Sustainability and Cost Savings 

• Lead comprehensive study of RM and PM specs optimization projects 

• Support in ensuring on-time launch of procurement projects on supplier selection/assessment, and development of alternative supplier 

• Provides technical support on buying better initiatives through material evaluation, product trial, stability  testing and development of specification

 

Quality and Compliance 

• Ensure product compliance vs local and international regulations 

• Drives quality improvement of RM and PM 

• Handle and resolves on-time factory origin consumer complaints

 

MEASURABLE OUTCOMES (KPIs)

• On-time and in full launch of all I&R projects 

• On-time implementation of all cost savings and sustainability projects 

• 100% compliance to local and international regulation

KEY EXPERIENCES:

• Minimum 3 years experience in management or supervisory role in hair care/ personal care product  development 

• Has good understanding of business finances particularly P&L, buying, market trends, budgeting and  forecasting

 

Educational background 

• BS or MS Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmacy or related field.
