Job Overview

Ormond, LLC performs engineering R&D, specializing in process and tooling development for advanced manufacturing and material processing. The company combines unconventional machining, laser scanning, 3D printing and innovative tooling to solve our customer's manufacturing problems. Engineering projects are carried out for Government and commercial customers. We are looking for additional staff engineers to take part in a variety of projects. Ormond is a small business founded in 2000 and is located in North Auburn, WA.

Research Engineer/Technician
-Full time staff position with benefits and performance bonuses

-Individual must be “hands-on” comfortable working in the shop to operate and maintain custom CNC machines, conduct tests and collect/analyze data
-The position will involve a broad range of responsibilities from desk based engineering work in our office to physically carrying out hands-on laboratory studies
-This individual will carry out machine design, software development, data analysis, material sourcing, mechanical assembly, machine operation, parametric testing, report writing and other tasks

Requirements
-Individual must be a self-starter capable of carrying out engineering projects without continuous direction
-Must be willing to carry out work in the laboratory and perform research studies that require broad range of analytical and mechanical capabilities

-Must be physically capable of working in the shop including heavy lifting and wrenching
-Occasional travel will be necessary
-Applicant must be a US citizen due to technology export restrictions

Beneficial Experience
-BS or MS degree in Engineering

-5 years work experience

-Experience with manual and CNC machines and robots

-Research oriented background
-Software and controls experience that supports the ability to learn, develop and operate a range of data acquisition and robotic systems
-Mechanical engineering design experience including use of SolidWorks
-Hands on mechanical and electrical capabilities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
