RESEARCH FACULTY

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to : Research Director

Coordinates with : Senior Director for CCSMA, Innovation Associates,

Directors and Faculty of CCSMA

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Conduct Research - Design, execute, and analyze research projects in areas aligned with the CCSMA and Institutional research agenda and personal expertise.

2. Publish Scholarly Work - Prepare and submit research findings for publication in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals (preferably SCOPUS-indexed) and presentations at reputable national and international conference with SCOPUS-indexed publications.

3. Create Intellectual Property (IP) - Generate novel ideas, inventions, methodologies, software, and other creative works that have potential for intellectual property protection (e.g., patents, utility models, copyrights).

4. Secure Funding - Actively seek and apply for internal and external research grants and funding opportunities to support research projects.

5. Knowledge Dissemination - Share research findings and expertise through seminars, workshops, and lectures for students, faculty, and the broader academic community.

6. Student Mentorship - Mentor and guide undergraduate and/or graduate students in their research endeavors, including thesis and capstone projects.

7. Collaborate on Research Projects - Participate actively in collaborative research initiatives with other faculty members, departments, and external partners.

8. Intellectual Property Contribution - Identify potential intellectual property arising from research and contribute to the institution's efforts in intellectual property protection.

9. Contribute to Ethical Review - Participate in the evaluation and review of research proposals and activities to ensure adherence to ethical guidelines and institutional policies, as required.

10. Teaching and Academic Contribution - Teach courses within the CCSMA curriculum aligned with their expertise and the needs of their auxiliary department.

11. Stay Update -: Remain current with the latest trends, technologies, and ethical considerations in computer science, information technology, multimedia arts, and research methodologies.

12. Academic Service - Participate in departmental and college-level committees related to research, and curriculum development related to research.

13. Report Generation - Prepare periodic research progress reports as required by the Research Director and for accreditation purposes.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

● Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a closely related field is required.

● A Doctorate in a relevant discipline is highly preferred

Experience:

Technical Proficiency

● Strong background in areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, software development, cybersecurity, human-computer interaction, or digital systems.

● Familiarity with current tools and platforms for research, data management, and collaboration.

● Demonstrated experience in conducting research, from proposal development to data analysis and dissemination of results.

Publication and Writing:

● At least one publication in a SCOPUS-indexed journal or conference proceedings is preferred.

Strong academic writing skills and experience in technical documentation and research reporting.
