Researcher – Material & Packaging Innovation

Job Purpose

Responsible for researching, developing, and evaluating new materials, technologies, and innovations to improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and packaging performance. The role focuses on material development, packaging structure design, and commercialization of research outcomes to support business growth and meet customer and market requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Research, evaluate, and develop new materials, technologies, and innovations to improve manufacturing processes, product quality, and packaging performance.
• Study market trends, customer requirements, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for material and packaging innovation.
• Conduct feasibility studies, technical assessments, and risk analysis for research and development projects.
• Design and develop packaging structures and product concepts, with a focus on corrugated packaging, protective packaging, and sustainable packaging solutions.
• Conduct laboratory experiments, material testing, prototype development, and trial production to validate product performance.
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Marketing, Sales, and Technology Commercialization teams to implement new technologies and commercialize research outcomes.
• Prepare research proposals, project plans, budgets, technical reports, and presentations for management.
• Analyze testing data and continuously improve products, materials, and production processes based on research findings.
• Support customer technical requirements by recommending suitable material specifications and packaging structure designs.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor technologies, and new material innovations to strengthen the company's competitive advantage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Packaging Technology, Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.

• At least 3 years of experience in Research & Development, Packaging Development, Material Development, Product Development, or related fields.

• Experience in corrugated packaging, paper packaging, carton box development, or packaging manufacturing is highly preferred.

• Knowledge of packaging structural design, product design, packaging engineering, and packaging optimization.

• Experience in packaging testing, material evaluation, prototype development, and trial production.

• Strong analytical thinking, research methodology, and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication, collaboration, and project coordination skills.

• English written and verbal communication well is a plus
