Reservations Agent

The Tower Hotel & Leisure Centre, Waterford is currently recruiting for a full-time Reservations Agent to join our team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, customer-focused individual who enjoys working in a busy hotel environment and has a natural ability to turn enquiries into bookings.

As a Reservations Agent, you will often be the first point of contact for our guests, so we are looking for someone who is professional, confident and friendly, with excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail.

Previous hotel reservations or reception experience would be an advantage. However, we would also welcome applications from candidates with strong customer service, administration or sales experience who are keen to develop their career within the hotel industry.

The Role

Working as part of our Reservations team, your responsibilities will include:

• Handling incoming telephone, email and online reservation enquiries in a professional, friendly and efficient manner.
• Providing guests with accurate information regarding bedrooms, packages, rates and hotel facilities.
• Converting enquiries into confirmed bookings and identifying opportunities to maximise room sales and revenue.
• Processing individual and group reservations accurately on the hotel reservations system.
• Inputting group rooming lists and ensuring booking information is complete and accurate.
• Liaising with corporate clients, tour operators, travel agents and third-party booking partners.
• Managing amendments, cancellations and special requests.
• Ensuring guest preferences and requirements are accurately recorded and communicated to the relevant departments.
• Developing a strong working relationship with Reception, Sales and other hotel departments.
• Identifying potential business opportunities and passing relevant leads to the Sales team.
• Completing departmental procedures and daily checklists.
• Providing consistently high standards of guest service from initial enquiry through to arrival.

What We Are Looking For

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Excellent written and spoken English.
• A friendly, professional and positive approach.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment.
• Confidence communicating with guests by telephone and email.
• A commercial approach with the ability to convert enquiries into bookings.
• Previous hotel reservations or reception experience desirable.
• Experience using Hotsoft would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of online travel agents and third-party booking platforms would be an advantage.
• Good computer and administration skills.
• The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Working Hours

This is a full-time position. Some flexibility may be required as the role is predominantly Monday to Friday, however you may be required to work an occasional Saturday or Public Holiday..

Eligibility to Work

Applicants must be legally entitled to live and work in Ireland on a full-time basis. Documentary evidence of eligibility to work will be required.
