About the role

Auckland & Beyond Tours is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Reservations / Sales Agent to join our dynamic team in North Shore, Auckland.

This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in driving our business forward by managing customer inquiries, processing reservations, and delivering exceptional sales support. Alongside 2 current staff in this department, you will be the key point of contact for our clients, helping our guests plan their perfect travel experiences whilst maximising revenue opportunities for our organisation. This role is essential in creating memorable customer interactions and building lasting relationships that reflect our commitment to excellence in the hospitality and tourism industry.

Key responsibilities

• Processing and managing reservations through multiple booking channels with accuracy and efficiency
• Communicate with trade and provide excellent customer service.
• Responding promptly to customer inquiries via phone, email, and online platforms, providing detailed information about our products and services
• Identifying and capitalising on upselling and cross-selling opportunities to increase revenue and customer satisfaction
• Maintaining detailed and accurate customer records and booking information within our reservation systems
• Coordinating with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services and customer experiences
• Handling customer concerns and complaints professionally, working towards satisfactory resolutions
• Meeting and exceeding sales targets whilst maintaining high standards of customer service
• Staying updated on current promotions, packages, and pricing to communicate effectively with customers
• Preparing quotations and proposals for group bookings and special requests
• Contributing to a positive team environment through collaboration and knowledge sharing
• Updating online sales platforms & reservation systems

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in a reservations, sales, or customer service role, preferably within the tourism industry
• Proficiency in using reservation systems and computer applications, with the ability to learn new software quickly
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage customers professionally and persuasively
• Strong organisational and time management abilities to handle multiple bookings and inquiries simultaneously
• A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service and creating positive experiences
• Proven sales ability with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets
• Attention to detail and accuracy in processing transactions and maintaining records
• Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and peak periods
• A positive attitude, team player mentality, and willingness to go the extra mile for customers
• Knowledge of New Zealand travel destinations and attractions is advantageous
• Ability to work weekends as that is required.
