Residency Coordinator

Job Summary

The purpose of the position is to support the mission of the department to prepare qualified tear educators to meet the needs of K-12 schools in Louisiana.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Oversee, manage, direct and support the tenets of the MOU between GSU’s partner school districts and the Teacher Preparation Program
• Facilitate data collection to ensure data informed decisions with regard to the structure, scope and sequence, and continuous improvement of the TPP
• Serve as liaison between site supervisors, university faculty, mentors, and GS Director of Professional Learning Experiences.
• Serve as member of committees and the PK-16+ Advisory Council and assist in planning a facilitating the PK-16+ Council meetings
• Assist in training, supporting and communication of mentors, University Supervisors, partner school district and other partners
• Assist in securing and overseeing placements and support fidelity of implementation of the initial certification residency, including monitoring progress
• Serve as lecturer
• Participate in initiatives and activities for recruiting prospective teachers

Qualifications

Minimum:

• M.ED. in C & I, EDL or closely related field;
• K-12 teaching/administration experience
