Resident Architect

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and meticulous Resident Architect (RA) to oversee site architectural works, QA/QC compliance, and structural/MEP integration for our ongoing Project in Balik Pulau, Pulau Pinang. You will serve as the primary on-site technical representative for architectural design intent, ensuring that all works strictly adhere to approved drawings, local authority regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Site Supervision & Quality Assurance: Lead day-to-day on-site architectural inspections, ensuring high standards of workmanship, materials, and specification compliance.
• Design & Technical Coordination: Compliance & Statutory Requirements: Resolve on-site technical issues, architectural-MEP/structural clashes, and site queries in close coordination with project engineers and consultants.
• Compliance & Statutory Requirements: Ensure construction strictly adheres to approved building plans, local authority regulations (UBBL), Fire Authority (Bomba) guidelines, and Tier III/IV requirements.
• Contractor Management: Review contractor shop drawings, material samples, mock-ups, and Method Statements (MOS) prior to installation/execution.
• Progress & Quality Audits: Monitor construction schedules, conduct regular site walks, issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), and verify rectification works.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain daily/weekly site logs, inspect site progress against milestones, and prepare technical site reports for client meetings.

About you

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture from a recognized institution.
• Professional Registration: Registered as a Graduate Architect (LAM Part II) or Architect (LAM Part III) with Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM).
• Registration with CIDB Card.
• Experience: Minimum 5–8 years of site supervision experience.

Technical Expertise:

• In-depth knowledge of BIM (Revit / Navisworks), AutoCAD, civil/architectural interface, and acoustic/cleanroom detailing.
• Strong familiarity with local statutory codes (UBBL, Bomba specifications, CCC requirements).
• Skills: Excellent communication, site conflict-resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
• Languages: Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written & spoken).
