What they need
Academic Programs International (API) specialises in delivering life-changing experiences in international education to university students. Based in Austin, Texas, we partner with American universities to offer their students once in a lifetime experiential education programmes in Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia. API programmes in Ireland are located in Dublin, Galway and Limerick.
API Ireland is recruiting for a Resident Director to lead and manage our programmes in Dublin. This role will be full-time. Weekend and evening work is sometimes required, and flexibility with hours is a must.
Reporting to the Ireland Regional Director, the Resident Director is responsible for the planning, pricing, budgeting, organisation and day to day operation of API's programmes in Dublin. This is a multi-faceted role which will include, but is not limited to, arranging student housing; design and delivery of on site orientations; researching and developing itineraries, pricing transportation, hotels, meals and activities, identifying and booking guest speakers and business visits; organising and attending cultural activities, excursions and events for students and acting as a cultural coach to assist students in their cultural adaptation.
The Resident Director will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with university partners, service providers as well as managing student, parent, university and employer expectations while working to ensure high levels of service are maintained across all API programmes.
The Resident Director supports API students and is the main contact throughout their programme in Ireland. The Resident Director shares responsibility with other team members as the 24 hour emergency contact for API students on-site.
