Resident Engineer

About the role

This is a contract position for site supervision and quality assurance on a construction project. You will oversee site activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, construction drawings, regulations, and client requirements. The role involves monitoring structural works, coordinating with contractors and consultants, and maintaining comprehensive site documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor site works to ensure method statements and work procedures are strictly followed
• Supervise structural works and identify any non-conformity in contractor's work
• Ensure the Builder executes work in accordance with Consultant's instructions
• Check drawings for discrepancies and suggest solutions to prevent delays
• Conduct quality inspections and quality control of materials used for the project
• Maintain and update site records on progress, housekeeping, and prepare reports
• Verify contractors' progress payments and claims in terms of work done and materials/equipment delivered
• Witness inspection, testing and commissioning sessions to ensure compliance with designs and specifications
• Manage and coordinate with site supervisors on C&S engineering, architectural and M&E engineering works
• Attend site, progress, variation and coordination meetings

About you

• Understanding of project specifications, construction drawings and site activity regulations
• Competent in supervision of structural works and identifying non-conformity
• Able to check drawings for discrepancies and suggest solutions
• Complete understanding of local requirements, especially BCA's criteria for build-ability and safety assurance system
• Knowledge of health and work safety compliance in accordance with MOM
• Ability to carry out regular site checks and ensure compliance
• Proper documentation skills for site inspection records, safety records and as-built drawings

Requirements:

min. Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent

At least 8 years of relevant experience in supervision of Bungalow

Resident Engineer Certificate accredited by IES / ACES is a must, candidate without RE certificate need not apply

Conversant in statutory code and requirements

Good team player with strong interpersonal and communications skills essential
