Resident Engineer

We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Resident Engineer / System Administrator to provide day-to-day IT infrastructure and end-user support. The candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows operating systems, Windows Servers, desktops, laptops, printers, network devices, and related IT infrastructure.

The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, basic server and network administration knowledge, and the ability to provide timely technical support to users while maintaining system availability, security, and performance.

Location Requirement

Important: This position is open only to candidates residing along the Western Line of Mumbai and who can conveniently travel to the client/site location.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
• Provide day-to-day IT support for desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and other peripherals.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows operating systems and desktop applications.
• Create and manage user accounts, passwords, groups, and access permissions.
• Administer Active Directory and provide basic Group Policy support.
• Manage shared-folder access and NTFS permissions.
• Troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, Internet, IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, routers, and switches.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot network printers and scanners.
• Configure and maintain Wi-Fi routers and basic network devices.
• Provide Microsoft Office 365 and Outlook support.
• Configure and troubleshoot remote desktop and remote access solutions.
• Perform hardware troubleshooting for desktops, laptops, printers, monitors, and peripherals.
• Install, update, and monitor antivirus and endpoint security software.
• Perform regular system maintenance, software updates, and security patching.
• Support data backup and restoration activities.
• Monitor server health, backups, and security updates.
• Assist users with workstation setup, software installation, and technical issues.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, email, and network-related incidents.
• Maintain IT asset records, issue logs, and technical documentation.
• Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal technical teams for issue resolution.
• Ensure timely closure of support tickets and user requests.
• Follow IT security policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Support high availability, reliability, and optimal performance of IT infrastructure.

Required Skills

• Hands-on experience with Windows operating systems installation and troubleshooting.
• Basic administration of Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
• Good knowledge of Active Directory and user account management.
• Knowledge of shared folders and access permissions.
• Basic understanding of Group Policy.
• Good knowledge of networking fundamentals including:
• TCP/IP
• IP Addressing
• LAN/WAN
• Wi-Fi
• DNS
• DHCP
• Routers
• Switches
• Internet troubleshooting
• Experience with printer installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Outlook support.

• Hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of antivirus installation, updates, and security monitoring.
• Basic knowledge of backup and restoration procedures.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Good communication and end-user support skills.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
• Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy.
• Familiarity with backup solutions and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of IIS, DNS, DHCP, and file-sharing services.
• Basic understanding of server monitoring and maintenance.
• Good customer-service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with vendors and technical teams.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Relevant technical certifications will be an added advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in IT Support, Desktop Support, System Administration, or Resident Engineer roles. Experience - 2 Year (Not more than or less)
• Experience supporting end users in a corporate/client environment will be preferred.

Responsibilities

The scope of work is not limited to the responsibilities outlined above. The Resident Engineer may be required to perform additional IT infrastructure, technical support, and system administration activities based on evolving business requirements and operational needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
