Resident Engineer – Microsoft SecurityJob Summary

We are looking for two (2) dedicated Resident Engineers to provide Business-as-Usual (BAU) operational support for Microsoft security solutions deployed within BSN.

The Resident Engineer will be responsible for the operation, administration, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting and security-related activities across the Microsoft Defender environment, working closely with BSN teams, Microsoft support teams and relevant stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities1. Microsoft Defender Platform Support

Provide operational support for:

• Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE)
• Microsoft Defender for Office 365 (MDO)
• Microsoft Defender for Identity (MDI)
• Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps (MDCA)

Responsibilities include:

• Monitor and maintain the health of Microsoft Defender platforms.
• Monitor endpoint, sensor, connector and service health.
• Verify connectivity, reporting and security telemetry.
• Identify unhealthy, stale, misconfigured or non-reporting assets.
• Verify platform, engine and security intelligence updates.
• Troubleshoot Microsoft Defender-related operational issues.
• Ensure proper security coverage and reporting across in-scope assets.

2. Security Incident Response

• Act as the first onsite point of contact for Microsoft Defender-related security incidents.
• Investigate and support remediation of security incidents.
• Perform or support endpoint isolation and containment activities.
• Investigate malicious files, malware and other security artifacts.
• Support account-related remediation activities.
• Collect investigation evidence and relevant security artifacts.
• Support investigations involving endpoint, identity, email and cloud application security events.
• Coordinate incident response activities with BSN, Microsoft and relevant support teams.
• Escalate issues to Microsoft or specialist teams when required.
• Track incidents and remediation activities through to closure.

3. Microsoft Defender Endpoint Onboarding & Offboarding

• Validate successful onboarding of newly deployed endpoints into Microsoft Defender for Endpoint.
• Verify endpoint visibility, health, connectivity and reporting status.
• Verify policy assignment and compliance.
• Verify platform and engine versions and security intelligence updates.
• Troubleshoot onboarding issues and failures.
• Assist with Defender agent installation and manual onboarding where required.
• Support Microsoft Defender offboarding for retired, replaced, rebuilt or decommissioned devices.
• Validate successful agent removal and offboarding from the Defender platform.

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
