What they need

Residential Remodeling Project Manager

Green Hill Contracting, LLC | Raleigh-Durham, NC

At Green Hill Contracting, LLC, we understand what it means to turn a house into a home. With over 30 years of combined experience, our woman-owned remodeling company delivers exceptional interior and exterior renovation services throughout the Triangle.

We are seeking a Project Manager with residential construction or remodeling experience to manage and coordinate multiple active renovation projects.

This position is ideal for someone with experience coordinating residential construction projects who is ready to manage projects from planning through completion. You will independently manage day-to-day project responsibilities, keep projects moving on schedule, and ensure Green Hill's standards for quality and client service are consistently met.

Because we are a lean, collaborative team, we're looking for someone who takes initiative, anticipates needs, solves problems, and follows through without requiring continual direction.

This is a hands-on role for a residential construction professional who is ready to manage projects while continuing to grow in project scope and complexity.

Only candidates currently located in the Triangle area will be considered. This position requires regular travel to residential project sites throughout Raleigh, Durham, and surrounding communities.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the day-to-day coordination of assigned residential remodeling projects
  • Maintain project schedules, including trade sequencing, materials, inspections, and key milestones
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and job-site activities
  • Conduct regular job-site visits to monitor progress, document conditions, and address items requiring follow-up
  • Look ahead to upcoming project needs and proactively address materials, scheduling, trade coordination, and outstanding decisions
  • Review work against plans, scopes, specifications, and Green Hill quality expectations
  • Coordinate material orders, pickups, deliveries, returns, and vendor follow-up
  • Verify materials and job sites are ready before scheduled work begins
  • Track project costs, purchase orders, subcontractor invoices, and allowances
  • Coordinate client selections, change orders, and project-related decisions and communication
  • Manage quality-control reviews, punch lists, and project closeout
  • Communicate professionally and consistently with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members
  • Identify and resolve potential job-site, scheduling, material, or cost issues before they impact the project
  • Maintain accurate project schedules, notes, photos, selections, documentation, and action items in company project management software
  • Support material pickups, deliveries, and other field needs when necessary to keep projects moving

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of residential construction, remodeling, homebuilding, or closely related construction experience
  • Prior experience managing or independently coordinating residential construction projects
  • Working knowledge of residential construction methods, terminology, sequencing, and job-site operations
  • Ability to read residential plans, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
  • Experience coordinating subcontractors, vendors, materials, schedules, and job-site activities
  • Tech savvy and comfortable learning and using project management software, mobile applications, cloud-based documents, and other digital tools
  • Comfortable entering and maintaining project information, photos, schedules, notes, and action items using company systems from both the field and office
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Proactive and resourceful, with the ability to take ownership of projects and follow responsibilities through to completion
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and address issues before they affect schedule, cost, quality, or the client experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently in the field and collaboratively with a small team

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; construction-related education or training is a plus
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Successful completion of a background check and drug screening is required as a condition of employment
  • Ability to travel regularly to active project sites throughout the Triangle area

What We Provide

  • Company vehicle for work-related travel
  • Monday-Friday schedule
  • Quarterly bonus opportunity based on meeting company key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Hands-on involvement with high-quality residential remodeling projects
  • Independent responsibility for assigned residential renovation projects
  • Direct collaboration with an experienced construction team
  • Broad exposure to scheduling, subcontractor management, project costs, client communication, quality control, and project closeout
  • Opportunity to grow into managing larger and more complex projects
  • Collaborative, supportive small-team environment
