What they need
About the Company
Urban Edge Builders is a vertically integrated general contractor and developer operating across the full project cycle — land development, design-build, and residential production construction. Our current pipeline includes multi-unit townhome subdivisions, infill duplex and single-family development, and horizontal lot development. We build on systems, not improvisation: every project runs on Buildertrend, every dollar is tied to a cost code, and no work starts without contracts, permits, budget, and schedule in place.
Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to take full field and administrative ownership of multiple concurrent residential projects. This role is accountable for schedule, budget, quality, and subcontractor performance from permit issuance through certificate of occupancy. The successful candidate is a builder who runs repeatable production — not a coordinator who forwards emails.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage 3–6 concurrent residential projects (production townhomes, duplexes, single-family) from pre-construction through closeout.
- Build, publish, and maintain the master construction schedule; identify slippage early and drive recovery plans.
- Direct and hold accountable all subcontractors and suppliers: scope verification, scheduling, on-site coordination, and performance management.
- Own budget-versus-actual performance by cost code; investigate and explain every variance beyond ±5%.
- Enforce the three-way match discipline — purchase order, field photo verification, and invoice — before any payment is released.
- Administer change orders: no work proceeds in the field without a written, approved change order.
- Maintain Buildertrend as the system of record — daily logs, photo documentation, schedules, budgets, purchase orders, and selections. If it is not in Buildertrend, it did not happen.
- Manage the municipal process: permitting, plan review coordination, inspections, and utility scheduling with the City of Houston and applicable jurisdictions.
- Support the construction draw cycle by providing site evidence, progress documentation, and cost-to-complete input.
- Enforce quality control standards at every phase, punch-list completion, and warranty response.
- Maintain jobsite safety compliance and OSHA standards across all active sites.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum five (5) years of project management experience in residential construction, with direct Houston-market experience.
- Demonstrated experience delivering multiple units concurrently on a production or repeatable-plan basis.
- Working command of the full residential build sequence: site work, foundations (slab and pier), framing, MEP rough-in, envelope, finishes, and closeout.
- Ability to read and take off from architectural, structural, and civil drawings.
- Working knowledge of the Houston permitting and inspection process.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractor performance and hold trades to schedule and specification.
- Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Excel.
- Valid Texas driver’s license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel daily between job sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Production homebuilding background with a national or regional builder.
- Buildertrend experience (strongly preferred).
- Bilingual English/Spanish — highly valued for field communication.
- Experience with townhome and multi-unit attached product.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Familiarity with construction draw documentation and lien waiver processes.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
- Vehicle and phone allowance.
- Paid time off and company holidays.
- Direct access to ownership, real decision-making authority, and a defined growth path as the production program scales.
How to Apply
Submit your resume along with a brief summary of the number of units you have delivered in the last 24 months, the largest project budget you have managed, and the software platforms you have used. Applications without this information will not be reviewed.
