LifeStyle Design Service is looking for a Structural Design Manager to oversee structural design projects from initial client inquiry through final delivery. This is a full-time position combining technical knowledge, estimating and sales, project management, client communication, and quality control. This is a remote position.

The Structural Design Manager does not need to be the most advanced structural designer on the team, but must have sufficient hands-on residential structural design experience to accurately understand client needs, define project scope, estimate the work required, communicate effectively with clients and structural specialists, and review completed work.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming inquiries for residential structural design services and consult with clients to understand their needs.
• Identify and explain structural design requirements and recommend appropriate services based on the project.
• Independently define project scope, estimate the hours required to complete the structural work, prepare quotes, and communicate the value and scope of the proposed services to clients.
• Communicate effectively with homeowners, builders, plan designers, architects, engineers, and other industry professionals regarding structural requirements and questions.
• Oversee all phases of permitting projects and navigate local codes effectively
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously from sale through final delivery, ensuring projects remain on schedule and clients receive timely updates.
• Serve as the primary liaison between clients and Structural Design Specialists, accurately conveying questions, requirements, revisions, and technical information.
• Coordinate PE review and sealing when required, including managing corrections and communication between the PE and Structural Design Specialist.
• Redline completed structural and permitting work for scope, completeness, consistency, and accuracy prior to delivery.
• Periodically spot-check structural calculations and technical information using established quality-control procedures.
• Maintain strong relationships with plan publishers, builders, designers, and other industry partners who regularly refer structural design an permitting work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in residential structural design.
• Strong working knowledge of residential construction, structural systems and codes.
• Professional education in architecture, building engineering, structural engineering, or a related field is highly desirable.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is not required but is a plus.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Revit experience is a plus.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
