Resort General Manager - Hostel

About the role

We are seeking an energetic, commercially driven, and hands-on Resort General Manager – Hostel to lead the overall operation of a high-energy hostel and social hospitality property. The General Manager will have overall responsibility for property operations, guest experience, F&B, entertainment and social activities, sales, revenue, financial performance, people management, and operational standards. This role is ideal for a hospitality leader who understands the unique operating environment of hostels, resorts, lifestyle hotels, social accommodation, backpacker properties, and high-energy guest communities.

Key responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the day-to-day operation and performance of the assigned hostel property, leading all operational departments and ensuring smooth coordination across the property
• Oversee Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Guest Experience, Maintenance, Security, and other operational functions, ensuring efficient room and bed inventory management and high standards of service, cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency
• Create a welcoming, social, and engaging environment for local and international travelers, monitoring guest satisfaction and developing strategies to improve guest engagement and community building
• Oversee social activities, events, parties, tours, experiences, and guest activities to deliver a strong social hostel and lifestyle hospitality experience
• Take responsibility for the property's revenue and profitability, monitoring key performance indicators including occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and working closely with Revenue Management and Sales teams to maximize room and bed revenue
• Manage the property's P&L, budget, forecasts, and operational expenses, monitoring labor costs, F&B costs, purchasing, inventory, and utilities
• Oversee restaurants, bars, breakfast operations, pool bars, events, and other F&B outlets, monitoring food cost, beverage cost, labor productivity, inventory, and wastage
• Develop relationships with local tourism partners, DMCs, tour operators, travel agencies, activity providers, and other commercial partners to increase group bookings, events, tours, and activities
• Develop and oversee a strong calendar of hostel events, parties, social activities, tours, excursions, and guest experiences, ensuring activities are commercially viable and conducted safely and professionally
• Lead, motivate, coach, and develop the property management and operational teams, establishing clear KPIs and performance expectations while building a positive, energetic, multicultural, and high-performance team culture

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Tourism, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum 5–8 years of progressive hospitality management experience
• Previous experience as a General Manager, Hotel Manager, Hostel Manager, Resort Manager, Operations Manager, Assistant General Manager, or similar senior operational role
• Strong experience managing a full-service hospitality property or hostel
• Strong understanding of property operations, guest experience, revenue management, F&B, budgeting, P&L, and cost control
• Proven experience managing multicultural and international teams
• Strong commercial and business-development mindset
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Strong English communication skills
• Comfortable working evenings, weekends, public holidays, and during events
• Must be willing to relocate or be assigned to any of the listed locations in Thailand
