Resource Assistant (part-time)

About the role

This is a casual/part-time position based in Albany. You'll prepare and maintain science kits, support stock management, and deliver kits to schools throughout the North/West Auckland regions.

Key responsibilities

• Delivering and collecting science kits from schools
• Checking, cleaning, and restocking resources
• Maintaining inventory and storage areas
• Supporting volunteers and regional operations
• Helping ensure schools receive high-quality resources on time
• Coordinating science resource kits—checking, restocking, and making sure they're classroom-ready
• Attending workshops and community special events as appropriate
• Attending all training as required by House of Science NZ

About you

• Organised and detail-focused
• Practical and hands-on
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Friendly and customer-focused
• Comfortable lifting and moving boxes up to 25kg
• A full, clean New Zealand driver's licence
• Confidence driving a large van
• A positive attitude and willingness to pitch in
• No science background is required
