What they need
Resource Coordinator - School for Creative and Performing Arts
YMCA of Greater Cincinnati | Full-Time, Exempt
Who We Are
At the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati, we put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. We believe every young person, family and neighbor deserves the chance to achieve their potential, build meaningful relationships and feel that they belong. Our Community Learning Center partnership treats schools as hubs of the community, bringing students, families and partners together in one place.
The Opportunity
As a Resource Coordinator, you’ll be the connector who turns a school into a community center. You’ll work with school leaders, families, nonprofit partners and volunteers to bring health, mental health, arts, recreation and afterschool resources together where students and families already are. Your work will help students reach their goals, build strong ties among the people who support them, and make sure every family feels welcome.
What You’ll Do
Achievement: help students, families and the community thrive
- Lead community assets and needs assessments, then turn what you learn into lasting, practical solutions.
- Coordinate primary health, mental health, arts, recreation and afterschool resources in line with school and district goals.
- Supervise and coordinate programs during and beyond the school day, all year long, for students, families and neighbors.
- Track results against shared goals with partners and the Local School Decision Making Committee (LSDMC), and prepare monthly reports for Y leadership.
- Support grant-seeking and fund development, including writing grants and reporting on outcomes.
Relationships: build trust across the community
- Serve as the main community contact for the school and its staff, including on non-school days.
- Lead partner meetings so programs connect smoothly with the school day.
- Build relationships with partners, stakeholders and volunteers, and represent the Y on community groups and committees.
- Keep partner agreements current and make sure everyone knows their role.
Belonging: make the school a place for everyone
- Keep the community involved over time so families and neighbors stay part of shaping what the school offers.
- Make sure programs reflect and welcome the full range of students, families and cultures the school serves.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field preferred and experience in coordinating comprehensive
program activities in a school or institutional setting.
Good organization/planning, team building, verbal and written communication skills necessary.
Requires excellent networking, training, communication and interpersonal skills.
Understanding and knowledge of public schools helpful.
Must be available to work afterschool and weekends as needed.
