Respiratory Therapist

CANTERBURY OF TWINSBURG, AN INSPIRA HEALTH GROUP FACILITY, IS CURRENTLY SEEKING A FULL-TIME RESPIRATORY THERAPIST TO JOIN OUR TEAM! THIS IS A DAY SHIFT POSITION. AN $8000 SIGN-ON BONUS IS AVAILABLE!!

Responsibilities Include:

• Restore patient’s pulmonary function, alleviate pain, and support life by planning and administering medically prescribed respiratory therapy.
• Meet patient’s goals and needs and provide quality care by conducting pulmonary function tests, assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results, and determining respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and by prescription.
• Help patient accomplish treatment plan by administering inhalants, operating mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
• Administer respiratory therapy treatments by performing bronchopulmonary drainage, assisting with breathing exercises, and monitoring physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes.
• Direct treatments given by aides, technicians, and assistants.
• Evaluate effects of respiratory therapy treatment plan by observing, noting, and evaluating patient’s progress and recommending adjustments and modifications.
• Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers.
• Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs and giving instruction in those programs to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Recommend and/or provide assistive equipment and post discharge follow-up programs.
• Document care services by charting patient and department records.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.
• Develop respiratory therapy staff by establishing, and conducting, in-service training programs.
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal and certification requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37.00 - $45.00 per hour
