Respiratory Therapist (RT)

About the role

The Respiratory Therapist evaluates, treats, and manages patients with cardiopulmonary disorders under physician guidance. New graduates will receive comprehensive orientation, mentorship, and clinical hands-on training across all unit assignments (ICU, ER, General Wards).

Key responsibilities

• Conduct physical evaluations, collect and analyze arterial blood gas (ABG) samples, and execute physician-prescribed respiratory care plans
• Assist with the setup, monitoring, and maintenance of mechanical ventilators (invasive and non-invasive like BiPAP/CPAP) and artificial airways
• Administer prescribed aerosol medications, oxygen therapy, chest physiotherapy, and airway clearance techniques
• Perform basic pulmonary function tests (PFTs), pulse oximetry, and bedside diagnostic procedures
• Participate as an active member of the Code Blue / Rapid Response team under senior clinical supervision
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and instruct patients on inhaler usage, breathing exercises, and home care

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy / Respiratory Care
• Valid Respiratory Therapist Professional License (or scheduled/pending board exam results)
