About the Role

Looking for a respite provider for a 7 yr old boy who struggles with behavioral challenges. Up to 20 hours per week, depending on schedule. Every other weekend for sure and possible weekday depending on family schedule. Kiddo has some challenging behaviors and can hit, scratch, or bite when he is triggered, so the person working with him needs to be equipped to handle these situations. A caring individual who has good boundaries. This is a long term position and ongoing. Seeking a provider who is willing to keep showing up and be able to hold a consistent schedule.

We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and creative mentors, skills workers, and respite providers to support children and families in the Children’s Long-Term Support (CLTS) Program.

This position focuses on helping children and youth build independent living skills, social-emotional growth, and community engagement through positive, strength-based activities. This is a part time position and hours will vary, please read the entire job description carefully.

Position Details

• Part-Time & Flexible: Primarily after-school hours, evenings, and some weekends
• Hours Vary: Work depends on referrals — some weeks may be just a few hours, and other weeks up to 20. If there are no current clients, hours pause until new referrals come in. This is a casual, flexible position that adapts as clients’ needs arise, best suited for someone who is looking for supplemental and casual income.
• Respite Opportunities: May include short shifts or overnight care
• Pay: Starting at $18/hr
• Respite rates vary depending on the level of care and client needs
• Requirements: Must have reliable transportation and clean driving record and car insurance

Ideal Candidates

• Passionate about supporting children and youth with diverse needs
• Prefer experience working with youth who have developmental, behavioral, or mental health diagnoses, and who may come from challenging backgrounds
• Responsible, dependable, and engaging
• Experience in education, mental health, caregiving, art, yoga, or recreation is a plus
• Must pass a background check
