Community Horizons is assisting a gentleman in Sugar Camp in finding a compassionate, energetic Respite Provider to offer short‑term care and support. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about helping individuals with developmental disabilities — including autism — live safe, supported, and fulfilling lives.

As a Respite Provider, you will give primary caregivers the opportunity to rest and recharge while ensuring the individual remains engaged, comfortable, and well cared for. Your presence truly makes an impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive supervision during scheduled respite periods, ensuring safety at all times
• Support medication administration according to established care plans while maintaining strict confidentiality (HIPAA‑compliant)
• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks based on dietary needs and follow proper food‑safety practices
• Offer gentle reminders for personal hygiene, including showering as needed
• Engage in meaningful activities such as outings, recreational activities, and gym visits
• Maintain a supportive, respectful environment that promotes independence and comfort

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and/or autism spectrum disorder (preferred)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Comfortable around cats and dogs

Position Details
