About Us

This position is with Universal Alliance Group Limited (UAG), a licensed insurance brokerage. UAG and CC Information Limited are member companies of the same group. CC Information Limited is posting this role and handling recruitment on UAG's behalf.

About the role

We're looking for an experienced Responsible Officer to lead our insurance brokerage business. You'll be the person the IA holds accountable for our licensed insurance broker company. You'll maintain our broker license, oversee daily brokerage operations, and make sure the business meets every regulatory requirement as it grows.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as the approved Responsible Officer of the licensed insurance broker company under the Insurance Ordinance.

  • Maintain the company's Insurance Broker license with the IA, including renewals, notifications of changes, and annual submissions.

  • Make sure the company keeps meeting the IA's minimum requirements for licensed brokers, such as capital and net assets, professional indemnity insurance, client accounts, and keeping proper books and records.

  • Act as the main contact with the IA and handle audits, inspections and regulatory enquiries.

  • Build, maintain and oversee the company's compliance framework, policies and internal controls.

  • Make sure the business follows IA codes and guidelines, including those on conduct, fit and proper requirements, anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CTF), and the sale of long-term and investment-linked products.

  • Monitor sales practices, client suitability assessments and complaint handling.

  • Oversee day-to-day brokerage operations, including policy placement, documentation and record keeping.

  • Build and maintain good working relationships with insurers and business partners.

About you

  • At least 6 years' experience in the insurance industry, including at least 1 year as a Responsible Officer.
  • A valid IA license for Long Term Insurance, including Linked Long-Term Business.
  • Must meet the IA's fit and proper criteria to be approved as a Responsible Officer.
  • Solid understanding of the IA licensing process and compliance requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of Hong Kong's insurance regulatory framework.
  • Bachelor's degree or above.
  • Strong integrity and sound judgment.
  • Able to work independently and hands-on in a lean team.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Cantonese.
