Restaurant Cashier

The Restaurant Cashier is responsible for processing customer payments, handling transactions accurately, and providing friendly service at the checkout counter. This role involves operating the POS system, answering customer questions, maintaining transaction records, and coordinating with servers and kitchen staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service.
• Process cash, credit card, debit card, and other accepted payments accurately.
• Operate the POS system to enter orders and complete transactions.
• Prepare accurate bills and provide receipts to customers.
• Handle cash responsibly and maintain an accurate cash drawer.
• Process refunds, discounts, and adjustments according to company policies.
• Answer customer questions about menu items, pricing, and payment options.
• Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure accurate order processing.
• Verify transaction details and resolve basic billing discrepancies.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout counter.
• Monitor the cash drawer and report discrepancies to management.
• Assist with takeout orders and customer pickups when required.
• Maintain accurate transaction records and follow cash-handling procedures.
• Support opening, closing, and end-of-shift reconciliation duties.
• Inform management about POS issues or payment-processing problems.
• Follow restaurant policies and customer-service standards.
• Protect customer payment information and maintain transaction confidentiality.
• Assist other team members during busy restaurant periods.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous cashier or customer-service experience preferred.
• Basic math and numerical accuracy skills.
• Familiarity with POS systems and payment-processing procedures.
• Strong communication and customer-service abilities.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Honest, reliable, and responsible approach to cash handling.

Pay: $23.86 - $28.73 per hour
