Restaurant Counter Worker

Job Summary
Waters Restaurant is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Restaurant Counter Worker to support front-counter service and daily restaurant operations. The ideal candidate will assist customers with orders, process transactions, prepare and package food items, maintain a clean service area, and work closely with kitchen and front-of-house staff to provide efficient service.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide friendly, professional counter service.
• Take customer orders accurately and enter them into the POS system.
• Answer basic menu questions and assist customers with available options.
• Process cash, card, and other approved payment transactions accurately.
• Provide receipts and confirm order details before completing transactions.
• Communicate customer orders and special requests to kitchen staff.
• Assist with preparing, assembling, and packaging food and beverage orders.
• Ensure completed orders are accurate and properly packaged.
• Coordinate pickup and takeaway orders and assist customers with order collection.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming counter and service area.
• Restock menus, napkins, utensils, condiments, packaging, and other supplies.
• Clean and sanitize counters, service equipment, tables, and work surfaces.
• Monitor supplies and communicate shortages or operational concerns to management.
• Follow food handling, sanitation, cash-handling, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and restocking.
• Support other restaurant team members during busy service periods.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, counter service, cashier, or customer service experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of POS systems and payment processing.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Friendly, professional, and attentive attitude.
• Strong attention to order accuracy and transaction details.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Ability to handle cash and payment transactions responsibly.
• Comfortable standing and moving for extended periods.

• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
