Water Street Kitchen & Bar — East Greenwich, RI

Water Street Kitchen & Bar is seeking a reliable and experienced Restaurant Floor Manager to join our management team for the upcoming season.

Located on the waterfront in East Greenwich, Water Street is a high-volume seasonal restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining, multiple service areas, and a large front-of-house team.

The Floor Manager's primary responsibility is simple: run a smooth service.

We're looking for someone who is comfortable leading a restaurant floor, communicating with staff and guests, solving problems as they arise, and maintaining a high standard of hospitality throughout each shift.

Responsibilities;

• Manage day-to-day front-of-house restaurant service
• Lead servers, bartenders, hosts, food runners, bussers, and other FOH staff during shifts
• Conduct pre-shift meetings and communicate important service information
• Monitor the floor and ensure sections, tables, and service areas are operating efficiently
• Work closely with hosts to manage reservations, walk-ins, seating, and restaurant flow
• Coordinate with the kitchen and culinary management throughout service
• Assist staff during high-volume periods and step in wherever necessary
• Handle guest questions, concerns, and complaints professionally
• Make appropriate staffing and cut decisions based on business levels
• Maintain restaurant cleanliness, organization, and service standards
• Ensure opening and closing responsibilities are completed correctly
• Help enforce restaurant policies and expectations consistently
• Assist with training and development of front-of-house employees
• Communicate operational issues and staff concerns with the General Managers and other members of management
• Help create a positive, professional, team-oriented work environment

Qualifications;

• Previous restaurant experience required
• Restaurant management, shift-lead, or supervisory experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of front-of-house restaurant operations
• Comfortable leading a large team in a high-volume environment
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Guest-focused with the ability to handle difficult situations professionally
• Organized, dependable, and able to make decisions under pressure
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
• Experience with Toast POS and OpenTable preferred

Position Details

Water Street Kitchen & Bar operates seasonally, with our busiest months occurring during the spring and summer.

We are looking for someone who can become a consistent part of the restaurant's management team and take pride and ownership of running strong, organized services.

The final structure of the position will depend on the candidate's experience, qualifications, availability, and responsibilities.

An earlier start date may be available for the right candidate if there is an immediate fit and need. Otherwise, the anticipated start date is January 1, 2027, ahead of preparations for the upcoming restaurant season.

Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, availability, and the final structure of the position.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
