Job Overview

Pegasus on the Nautical Mile has been in operations since 2010; its sister restaurant in Greektown, Detroit has been open since 1980. We are a well-established company in Metro Detroit and our employees have enjoyed long-term careers within our company. We are currently seeking a restaurant host to be the first point of contact for our guests. You will create an inviting atmosphere by managing reservations, greeting guests, coordinating seating arrangements and completing carry-out orders. Organizational skills will ensure a smooth flow of operations, setting the tone for an exceptional dining experience. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your hospitality talents and develop your career in the food service industry. Furthermore, it is considered a necessary starting point for training as a a server.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly with a friendly and professional demeanor, making them feel valued from the moment they arrive
• Manage restaurant reservations efficiently
• Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table utilization and server workload balance while maintaining guest expectations
• Answer incoming phone calls with excellent phone etiquette, providing information about wait times, reservations, carry-out orders and general inquiries
• Support food safety standards by adhering to cleanliness and hygiene protocols in the host station

Expected Skills for the position:

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a friendly and professional phone manner
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper hygiene practices in food service settings
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining positive guest relations

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30.0 per week
