Restaurant Hostess

Hostess serves as the primary face of a restaurant or venue, welcoming arriving guests, managing seating arrangements, and maintaining an organized front entrance.

Core Responsibilities

• Guest Reception: Warmly greet customers upon arrival, assist with coat checks or waiting areas, and bid farewell to departing guests.
• Reservation & Table Management: Manage the reservation system (e.g., OpenTable, Resy), assign guests to appropriate tables, and balance server workloads across floor sections.
• Seating Escort: Lead guests to their tables, provide menus, introduce the designated server, and communicate special requests or seating preferences.
• Wait Times & Flow Control: Track table turn times, give accurate wait-time estimates to walk-in guests, and maintain an orderly waiting list during peak hours.
• Front Desk Operations: Answer phone inquiries, confirm future bookings, handle takeout/pickup orders, and keep the entrance area clean and tidy.
