Job Summary

Salty Flame is seeking a friendly, organized, and guest-focused Restaurant Host/Hostess to create a welcoming first impression and support smooth front-of-house operations. The successful candidate will greet guests, manage seating, coordinate reservations, answer questions, and work closely with the service team to ensure an efficient and enjoyable dining experience.

The ideal candidate has excellent communication skills, a professional attitude, and the ability to stay organized in a busy restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service.
• Greet and acknowledge guests promptly upon arrival.
• Manage guest seating and maintain an organized waiting area.
• Coordinate table assignments based on availability and service flow.
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating requests accurately.
• Provide estimated wait times and communicate updates professionally.
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus when appropriate.
• Answer questions about menu items, restaurant services, and seating options.
• Communicate effectively with servers, managers, and other team members.
• Monitor dining room activity and help maintain smooth guest flow.
• Assist with phone calls and reservation inquiries.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand.
• Assist with menus, table settings, and other front-of-house tasks as needed.
• Respond to guest requests and concerns professionally and notify management when necessary.
• Support coworkers during busy service periods.
• Assist with opening, closing, and other duties assigned by management.

Requirements

• Previous host/hostess, restaurant, hospitality, or guest-service experience is preferred but not required.
• Friendly, professional, and welcoming personality.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain organized in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Comfortable answering phones and handling reservation inquiries.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
