Responsibilities

• Greet guests with enthusiasm and professionalism as they arrive, making them feel valued and comfortable.
• Manage restaurant reservations efficiently using restaurant table management systems such as Toast.
• Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table utilization and minimize wait times, ensuring a seamless flow of guests.
• Maintain organized waiting lists and communicate clearly with guests regarding their seating status.
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the host stand and waiting areas in compliance with food safety standards.
• Support the front-of-house team by handling guest inquiries and resolving concerns promptly to enhance guest relations.

Skills

• Proven experience as a host or hostess in a restaurant setting, demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage positively with guests and team members.
• Familiarity with restaurant reservation management software such as Aloha POS or Micros POS systems.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic math skills for managing waitlists, reservations, and guest counts accurately.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper hygiene practices within hospitality environments.
• Experience with POS systems and phone communication, including phone etiquette and professional demeanor.
• Hospitality-oriented mindset focused on creating memorable guest experiences through guest relations and attentive service.
