Job Summary

Junior's Restaurant & Bakery is seeking a friendly, welcoming, and dependable Restaurant Host/Hostess to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate will greet guests, manage the entrance and seating process, assist with reservations and wait times, and help create a warm and organized dining experience.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, communicates professionally, and can remain organized and positive in a busy restaurant environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests warmly upon arrival
• Manage the restaurant entrance and maintain an organized host stand
• Escort guests to tables and provide menus as needed
• Manage seating arrangements and help maintain an efficient dining flow
• Answer guest questions about the restaurant, menu, seating, and wait times
• Assist with reservations, table requests, and guest inquiries
• Maintain accurate waitlists and communicate estimated wait times professionally
• Coordinate with servers, managers, and other team members regarding table availability
• Monitor dining room conditions and communicate service needs to management
• Assist guests with special seating requests whenever possible
• Maintain clean and organized host stand and entrance areas
• Help prepare menus and other guest materials for service
• Support the restaurant team during busy periods
• Follow restaurant service, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures
• Assist with opening, closing, and other assigned restaurant duties
• Handle guest questions and concerns in a polite and professional manner
• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by restaurant management

Requirements

• Previous host/hostess, restaurant, hospitality, retail, or guest-service experience preferred but not required
• Friendly, professional, and welcoming attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain organized in a fast-paced restaurant environment
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive guest experience
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible work ethic
• Basic knowledge of reservations or restaurant seating procedures is a plus
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
