Responsibilities

• Greet guests with a friendly and positive attitude as they arrive, making them feel valued from the moment they step through the door
• Manage restaurant reservations using table management systems, ensuring optimal seating flow and waitlist accuracy
• Coordinate with the kitchen and service staff to assign tables efficiently and accommodate special requests or needs
• Answer incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing information about wait times, reservations, and menu inquiries while practicing excellent phone etiquette
• Maintain organized guest lists and reservation logs to support seamless operations during busy hours
• Assist in managing guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and courteously to enhance overall satisfaction
• Support food safety standards by adhering to cleanliness protocols in the host/hostess station and dining area

Skills

• Proven experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role within a restaurant setting
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
• Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems and POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Micros POS or similar platforms
• Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tables, reservations, and guest requests simultaneously
• Basic math skills for handling seating calculations and managing waitlists accurately
• Knowledge of food safety practices to uphold hygiene standards in all guest interactions
• Ability to handle phone communication professionally, demonstrating good phone etiquette at all times
• Experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for guest services is essential
