Restaurant Host/Hostess

Job Summary

A-un Brooklyn is seeking a friendly, welcoming, and organized Restaurant Host/Hostess to join the hospitality team. The ideal candidate will greet guests, manage the flow of the dining room, assist with seating, communicate wait times, and help create a smooth and welcoming experience from arrival through departure.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome and greet guests warmly upon arrival
• Provide friendly, professional, and attentive hospitality
• Manage guest seating and maintain an organized dining room flow
• Provide accurate wait-time estimates and assist with guest inquiries
• Escort guests to their tables and provide menus as needed
• Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating assignments
• Communicate guest needs and special requests to servers and management
• Answer questions about menu items, dining options, and restaurant procedures
• Monitor table availability and coordinate seating with the service team
• Assist with takeout, pickup, and phone inquiries when needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and entrance area
• Help maintain menus, guest materials, and front-of-house supplies
• Support servers and other team members during busy service periods
• Handle guest requests and concerns in a polite and professional manner
• Assist with opening, closing, and other front-of-house duties
• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by restaurant management

Requirements

• Previous host/hostess, restaurant, hospitality, or guest-service experience preferred but not required
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organization and attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods
• Ability to multitask and prioritize guest needs
• Comfortable using reservation or POS systems
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible work ethic
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Skills

• Restaurant host/hostess or front-of-house experience
• Experience managing reservations and waitlists
• Strong guest-service and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with restaurant POS or reservation systems
• Ability to coordinate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management
• Good organization and time-management skills

Pay: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour
